Greetings Everyone!
It will soon be three months since I started maintenance and I've still managed to lose weight. I've lost 58 lbs. I seem to be holding steady at this point. I still feel great and I'm very thankful for the guidance of the Weigh Station staff in my weight loss efforts. Following the diet for weight loss was easy. You just follow the rules and just eat what's on the list, drink your water and you lose the weight and inches. Maintaining is a little more challenging as it's a little easier to be tempted to have just a bit of this or that. One bite won't hurt. Right? Wrong!
As I mentioned in my last post, you know you can add items and some carbs back into your diet, but you still have to be very careful. You can't over indulge. Actually, as I started maintenance even though I had this new freedom to eat some things that I used to eat, I was very hesitant to do so. Then over the course of the next two months, I started adding a few more things. Yesterday, someone brought donuts to the office. They’ve done this before and I wasn’t even tempted. Today, for whatever reason, I had to have a taste, so I used a knife to cut just small taste of the one. OMG! It was like a sugar rush – just that one bite. It was so sweet, I could hardly stand it. Why did I do this I thought? It really wasn’t worth it. However, it could have just as easily gone the other way…it could have been really good and I could have wanted another bite and another bite which would lead to disaster.
I don’t consider myself to be on a diet anymore, I consider this my new “Healthy Lifestyle.” Now if I can just get myself to the gym or outside walking so that I can incorporate more exercise into my “Healthy Lifestyle.” Stay tuned!!!
